Positive Relationships at Work - 21 March 2012

Isn’t this what we all crave? Wouldn't work be more pleasant?

Sue Langley, Director - Langley Group Worldwide, will talk you through how you can enhance your working relationships positively and how positive leadership not only increases your perspective on your role but how your communication generates those positive relationships.

This executive tutorial seeks to explore and explain how emotional intelligence and neuroscience create the conditions that allow individuals, groups and organisations to be more effective in their communication and build positive experiences. It is structured to show how to lead yourself positively to then cultivate and influence positive relationships with others.

You will learn a basic overview of positive relationship principles as well as tangible tools and techniques to use every day to enhance your own personal levels of emotional positivity.

The course will be structured around the four pillars of positive psychology:

  • What do we mean by positive relationships at work?
  • Self-leadership and emotional intelligence
  • The effects of the iceberg
  • Strengths - getting to know them and how to use them
  • Influencing - emotional intelligence and self confidence
  • Emotional expression and rapport building
  • Breaking down barriers - facts vs feelings
  • Positive communication - linking behavioural drivers and performance
  • Positive / Negative ratio - how does this affect your team and relationships
  • Active constructive responding
